- Susse Sherwood turned to a longtime interest in painting when other activities abated and it was possible to enjoy the challenge of putting paint to work. She works mainly in water media and pastel, both abstractly and realistically. In Virginia she studied drawing with Chica Tenney, and has taken many workshops in watercolor and water media with such artists as Frank Webb, Louise Cadillac, Gerald Brommer, Ed Minchin and others.
- Susse is a signature member of Florida Watercolor Society (FWS) and a former Board Member. She served the Tallahassee Watercolor society as president and in various other roles. She is a member of The North Florida Pastel Society and an Active Member of Southern Watercolor Society. She has been a member of the Art Advisory Board of the Thomasville (GA.)Cultural Center. Her work has appeared in many exhibitions in Florida and Georgia and won numerous awards.
