Yvonne Sovereign       228 Key Road Sanford, NC 27332 919-718-1372 canineart@windstream.net   Yvonne Sovereign's watercolors have a flair for vivid color and exciting attention to detail. She is best known for her sensitive portrayal of animals, particularly dogs. Her knowledge of canine structure and expression contribute to the success of her paintings. Her work is not limited to animals and her paintings of other subjects have become sought after as well. Her work is in many collections throughout the United States, as well as Canada and abroad. She has been a registered artist with the AKC Museum of the Dog in St. Louis, MO for many years and has exhibited in their Artist's Registry Exhibitions which were held every two years. She has also been accepted to the juried show, Art Show at the Dog Show in Wichita, KS for a number of years since it's inception. Her most recent award at that show was earlier this year, 2003, where she won first place in the watercolor category and Best Depiction of a Whippet. She is currently a member of the Sanford Brush and Palette club, the Watercolor Society of North Carolina and the Southern Watercolor Society. She has garnered a number of awards including Best In Show at the annual SB&P show in 1999, 2002 and 2003.
