MAGGIE PICKETT
 
 
Margaret Arthur Pickett is a native of Tennessee and a graduate of the University of Tennessee~Knoxville. She has always been interested in art and photography, travel and study, and nature in all of its' forms. She and her husband shared these interests, and he encouraged her in her art.
 
Bright color is her hallmark; she works in watermedia , collage and monoprints. For many years she studied with nationally known artist at the Grand Strand Watercolor Workshop in Myrtle Beach , S.C. She is a Signature Member of the Southern Watercolor Society, the Watercolor Society of Alabama, and
Experimental Artists of Alabama.
 
Maggie has been in other National Exhibitions : Red River in Fargo, N.D., Georgia Watercolor Society and in their Travel Show, and a Biennial Exhibition at the Wiregrass Museum in Dothan, Alabama. She has won awards in the past years, and often shared her love of art by giving demos of various techniques to local groups. Much of her work is semi abstract, using transparent pigment and bright color, and often with repetition of shapes,circles and triangles, and often with texture.
