I am a native New Yorker and my husband brought me to the Bible belt and has kept us in the Midwest for over fifty years. I have always been interested in the arts and loved drawing. Initially I just took it up as a hobby and never dreamed it to be something I would take seriously. However, that is not the case. After completing a course in interior design at SCSC in Pueblo, Colorado many years ago, it became the catalyst for a passion and drive to cultivate my desire to draw and paint. Prior to this I had been very involved in theater when I lived in St. Louis, though not a canvas, it is a type of canvas and definitely what I feel was the beginning of my interest in the arts. Eventually we moved to Wichita, Kansas where I took many college courses, seminars and workshops. At Wichita State University I attended classes concentrating on drawing and graphic design. I accrued well over 60 hours in courses in the Arts. I also took courses at the Center Art Association there in Wichita.
Over the years I have experimented with a number of different media. I have been told that my strength is in my use of varying techniques in watercolor. As much as I know I should concentrate on that area of strength I have always been one to avoid being painted in a box or categorized in style so I constantly challenge myself and seek to do a variety of media.
I have been teaching art for over 15 years. I teach form, line, and color theory needed for creative drawing. I taught elementary and middle ages in the Wichita area and have continued to teach privately, through the Parks and Recreation department, as well at the Hobby Lobby store in Topeka. My works have been displayed throughout the state of Kansas as well as Missouri, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.

I was included as one of the artists selected to design and hang an original Christmas ornament for the tree in the White House as per invite from President Bush and Laura Bush. We were privileged to attend the ceremony displaying the ornaments commemorating the states of our great country. It was an honor to attend the dinner and event at the White House. I participated in the National Dog Show art entries being 800 in number and was one of the 80 chosen to display. I recently had a one-woman show in Topeka, and I display my works throughout the year at local businesses and shops. I have contributed my art to the annual mask auction given by the Art Council of Topeka, as well as donating pieces that benefit the American Cancer Society. This year I participated in the "Touch of Pink" art that benefited Breast Cancer Awareness displayed and sold at the Topeka Art Guild Gallery. I have had entries accepted at the Wichita Lawn and Garden art event and the National Plain Air exhibit in Springfield, Missouri.
I have been doing this now for a number of years and continue to grow in love with "painting our lives" and "putting my heart...my passion" on display.
